Under the name of Martha Pennington, I create art that shows my heart. I looks in to my subconscious and pulls out the dreams and fears. No matter what medium I work in I play with the jumbled thoughts and feeling that are inside me and the rest of the world. Currently I have found oils and pencil to be my tools of choice to convey what I find to be important. As an academic minded person and a creative person I pull from both the traditional since of creating art and the modernist view of being creative. In my art I try to use both. Making sure that the techniques convey the idea of the work and that application is pleasing to the eye and hope that both come across to the viewers. I create for me, but also for others.

During the last few weeks I've been preparing to transfer to a major Academy of Art University in Sans Francisco. I really want to live there and these schools sound great.
I've already turned in the application with fee. I just can't wait. This will be the first time I move and the first time away from my family. I will be hundreds of millions away, its a little scary, but I want this for myself. This is a chance for me to see real winter and the idea of being able to go to the beach to sit and draw/write/think and smell the ocean air everywhere I go. Oh my God I just can't wait,so wish me luck. I should be moving sometime in January once all my financial stuff is taken care of. I had to update my Fafsa stuff and I'm waiting for any loans or grants that I might get. Either way I will be going. I also have a granteed job there. The company that I work for at my current college runs the food services at AAU so I will have a place to stay and eat through the school and a job to save money for a car and to pay off the loans if there are any.
